Clubs on Campus

After School Activities

There are a number of clubs offered to both PYP 4-8 and MYP1-5. These clubs are organised through the ASA Coordinator but run externally to ASA. Please see the different clubs offered this year 2023-2024 and the different prices. 

Please note: not all clubs run every week so please check the dates they are running and plan accordinly. 

PYP4-7 Chess Club
Mondays 15:00-15:45

In association with Chess House Aarhus, our chess club at AIS continues. The club is led by 3-time Danish champion turned chess
instructor Jens Ramsdal. The game of chess increases higher level thinking skills, advance math and reading skills, and builds self-confidence. During the lessons, chess theory is taught at all levels, followed by matches and competitions.

Join Japanese style Anime Manga Drawing with a pro-illustrator from Japan! Koko-sensei is a popular drawing sensei with 160k followers on social media. This is for beginners who need step by step drawing assists. We will be drawing Anime Characters – such as Pokemon, Mario, SumikkoGurashi – Sanrio Characters, and simple figures. Please bring your own sketchbook/ pencils/ eraser.

Instructor Robin Bonné is a electromicrobiologist scientist. In Robin’s science club, you will learn about the wonders of nature, from its tiniest ants to the stars in the universe. It is the perfect mix between compelling scientific
stories with live demonstrations and experiments you can do yourself. Amazement assured!

Choir with Mr. Cameron, our AIS performing arts teacher. Free choir singing class designed for all PYP5-8 students to apply musical skills as they continue to create and experience music as a musical ensemble.

Wednesday 15:00-15:45

If you enjoy designing, building, coding and having fun with other students, then this club is for you! The ‘STEM with LEGO Spike Club’ aims to build a strong foundation for computational thinking and engineering skill development that connects students to the world through science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) and have great fun in the process. Students will enjoy creating with their friends whilst building habits of learning, confidence, and teamwork skills along the way. The club with be run by a Design & Technology teacher, Charlie Bye-Jensen.

Move, play, improvise and act to nourish imagination and self awareness. Voice, body and the perception of space, are the core of acting, which makes theater a great tool to develop empathy, compassion, and self-confidence. Umay Elías and Alessia Belpasso are actresses who have taught and performed theatre for more than 15 years in Argentina, Spain, New Zealand and Denmark. They are part of SPAA (Street Performing Arts Association), an association that brings workshops and theater to the streets of Aarhus

MYP1-2 Homework Club
Every day 15:00-15:45

This session is designed for MYP1 & 2 students only. Students will have the opportunity to complete homework tasks whilst being supervised by a qualified support teacher from AIS in a secure location.

Price: 500dkk per month

Fee will be added to school invoice.
Please note that we only accept a
whole month sign up and require a
full month’s notice for signing out.

Please note that MYP1&2 students who
are not in the homework club or enrolled
in another appropriate AIS club will be
expected to leave school directly at 15:00
