More about us

Early Years

In the Early Years Programme at AIS, our aim is to provide the best possible learning experiences for young children (3-6yrs) and to lay the foundations for all future learning.  With a focus on investigation, play, language and social skill development, the Early Years programme works to prepare students emotionally, socially and intellectually for the more formal environments of the upper PYP.  We place a heavy focus on skill development to support each learner’s developing independence and self-confidence, as they work to have a voice in their own learning.

Primary Years

The IB Primary Years Programme caters to students from PYP4-PYP8 (International Grades 1-5; Dansk 0. til 4. klasse) and focuses on the whole child as an inquirer, both in the classroom and in the world outside the school doors. The PYP is an internationally minded, transdisciplinary programme designed to develop well-balanced and thoughtful learners. We focus on the total growth of the child, encompassing physical, social/emotional and cultural development.  Beyond the school day, After School Activities are offered to provide ongoing care and a wide range of extracurricular activities.

Middle Years

At AIS, the MYP caters to students from MYP1 to MYP5 (International Grades 6 to 10; Dansk 5. til 9. klasse) and aims to provide them with a broad, balanced, comprehensive and transferable education. We offer an IB Middle Years Programme, as well as a programme of extracurricular activities as enrichment.  When AIS students graduate from the school, they are able to move into a wide variety of upper-secondary options, including the IB Diploma Programme, and local Danish upper-secondary options.
