After-School Activities (PYP 4-8)

Pedagogical Goals

We learn through play.

The After School Activities at Aarhus International School is a daily after-school program that aims to provide high-quality, holistic childcare through a variety of activities and clubs, to enable PYP4-8 students to enjoy, grow, and develop their personal, social, and emotional interests and needs in a safe, supportive environment.

MAC & ASA

ASA & MAC Daily After School Activities are for all PYP4-8 students who are enrolled in the programme. We aim at providing a space for students where they can engage in active and creative activities with their fellow students across ages within the Primary Years Programme. Each term offers a selection of activities, which completes our students’ well-rounded day. We welcome our students’ input when creating our menu of clubs to complement their full and balanced school schedules.

As of August 2021, we have two offers available for students wishing to attend the after-school programme.

ASA – Daily After School Activities 07:00 – 08:00 & 14:15/15:00 – 17:00

MAC – Daily Morning and Afternoon Care 07:00 – 08:00 & 14:15 – 15:00

Half Days and Holidays

There are some days throughout the school year where the school does not offer regular scheduled lessons. These are during the school holidays and half days for staff training.

On these days, the ASA is open for childcare.

HALF DAY CHILDCARE

Students signed up for ASA or MAC are automatically signed up for half days.

All other students in PYP4-8 must sign up in advance.

Half Day childcare is free to attend.

HOLIDAY CAMPS

Childcare is open to all students in PYP4-8, however sign up is required for all.

Holiday camps are free for any student signed up for ASA or MAC, or 900kr for all other students.

Please note that the summer camp is only offered on the first and last week of the summer holidays at Dalgas for PYP4-8
