PYP4 student competes in the World Maths Day challenge and come out on top for the school and country!
World Maths Day takes place at the end of March. It is an international celebration of maths, which recognises children’s prowess in mathmatics. It is a competition that takes place worldwide online, in which schools can take part in and compete nationally and globally. The Mathletics challenge has taken place since 2007 and here at AIS we have taken part every year for many years. Mathletics and 3P Learning host this challenge throughout the week.
Usually, this mathletics challenge aimed for students in PYP7 and 8, however amongst the competitors this year was also 6-year old Saurya in our PYP4 class. And we are thrilled to announce, that with a total score of 797, Saurya ranked 183rd in the entire world, topping the school and country record.
This acheivement is phenomenal and we are so impressed by Shaurya’s knowledge and dedication for someone so young. It is not always so easy when you are that young to have the stamina and the knowledge to complete such a challenge, but Saurya makes it look easy. Congratulation to all who took part, and again congratulations to Saurya for this amazing achievement.
